2nd Annual National Train Day Comes to Yuma

The Yuma County Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority (YCIPTA) in conjunction with Amtrak  will join communities across America to celebrate the importance of trains to their town at the seventh annual National Train Day.    The event will be held at the Quartermaster Depot State Historical Park, 201 N. 4th Avenue, Yuma, On Saturday, May 10th, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This local event is sponsored by YCIPTA, City of Yuma, Yuma Visitors Bureau, Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area Corporation, Yuma Live Steamers and Yuma Model Railroad Club.

Event offerings will include train equipment displays, jump houses, informational booths, interactive booths, model train displays, historic train displays throughout the grounds and family-friendly activities. People will be able to tour the Historic Quartermaster Depot and, Pivot Point where trains first crossed into Yuma and come see the actual event inside the Supply Warehouse.
